Hello, I'm Brute Florist. Let's jump straight to examples of my work. After you have listened to some songs and decided we might be a good fit, just scroll on down for more info on who I am, what I do and how we can work together to make your songs sound fucking awesome.
Note: I've worked on a weird variety of music. So I encourage you to skip around in the playlist. If you don't hear your specific genre or style but you like the way my mixes sound, reach out anyway! I love working on projects that don't fall neatly into a certain box. As you're about to hear, that's actually my specialty.
I use a broad collection of techniques that I've developed over the years from my experiences recording and mixing a weird variety of music. I've also learned a ton from a variety of great engineers that I've studied and worked with along the way. I've also been known to utter secret incantations and summon energies from beyond the veil.
Whatever it takes to transform a collection of tracks into a fantastic sounding recording with personality and heart. Every artist and recording is unique.
I'm like a sonic tailor dressing your song in a perfectly fitted 3-piece suit. Or banged up Docs and a sweaty T-shirt. Or banged up Docs sequined gown. Or walking stick and old coat. Or naked and glistening upon a narwal riding a fountain of silver sparks.
Or something completely different. Where should we go?
Let me put it a little less cheesily. Some tracks blossom with a light touch and just a bit of this or that. Others demand deep frequency sculpting, touching, blending and balancing every detail. No matter which approach is right for you and your songs, I craft badass mixes that make your music step out of the speakers and into lives and emotions of your fans.

"Fast, cheap or good. Pick two." - unknown
Actually, I've picked for you: inexpensive & high quality. That's where I'm at right now. Here's why.
First of all, I don't like working "fast." I can't deliver mixes I'm proud of if I only have a day or two. That's not not fun, and trust me, it's better if your mix engineer is having fun. Yet "not fast" does not mean open ended. I will give you a turn around time for your project based on my schedule and, barring any unforeseen craziness, that's how long it will take.
Also consider that I'm actively expanding my mixing business beyond word-of-mouth and my friends. I am working hard to build base of clients with giant smiles on their faces and a badass portfolio that will eventually allow me to charge more money. The upshot is right now I've set my fees as low as I can while still keeping the lights on. So it's a win-win.
My basic menu is as follows. If your project has special requirements not addressed below, lets talk and work out a fair adjustment.
$75 - Mix. One song with up to 3 revisions. Maximum track count: 32. (Does not include extensive programming or drum replacement - though I'm happy to do that for a negotiated bump in fee.)
$90 - Mix & Master. One song. Mastered for digital distribution. Mixing details as above.
$60 - Mix. Per song for groups of 3 or more songs. Details same as above.
$70 - Mix & Master. Per song for groups of 3 or more songs. Details same as above.
$30 - Mastering. Per song mixed by somebody else for digital distribution.
$20 - Mastering. Per song for groups of 3 or more songs mixed by somebody else
Q: Are your fees negotiable?
A: The short answer is: Maybe. If you'd like to propose something different than above, feel free. Whether I accept or not will depend on a variety of factors.
Q: Do you also record artists?
A: I love recording! I have a ton of experience recording in non-traditional spaces. I'm also happy booking studio time and go that route. I don't have a set fee schedule, and it's mostly by word of mouth. But if you're interested, lets chat and see if we're a good fit.
Q: Do You also produce artists?
A: Absolutely! It generally (though not always) dovetails with also doing the recording and mixing. Again, this usually comes to me through personal connections, so no set fee schedule. If you're interested in having me produce your EP or record, get in touch and lets see if we're a good fit.
Q: Do you master for vinyl?
A: No. When I need vinyl mastering I have a couple of extremely pro mastering engineers in my back pocket that I work with depending on desired price point and other considerations. I can connect you with them directly, or for a small fee I'm happy to manage that for you.
